Ningaloo Worm Lizard
also called the Monte Bello Worm-lizard,
Atomic Worm Lizard or Hermite Island Worm-lizard
Restricted to Western Australia it can be found on Hermite and Trimouille Islands in the Montebello Islands group, as well as Barrow Island off the Pilbara coast and North West Cape on the mainland, South to Yardie Creek and inland to Bullara Station.
It has an unusually long snout
Initially known from only 2 specimens discovered in 1952, it was rediscovered in 2006
