WHITE LIPPED (D'Alberti's) PYTHON
Leiopython albertisi

This species has been included as many references still include this as an Australian species.

There seems to be some confusion about whether this species is found in Australia at all. It is apparently found in the Torres Strait Islands however not all the islands are considered part of Australia.

Also note that this species has been split into 4 species however my understanding is that those from the the Torres Strait would be Leiopython albertisi.

For a listing of the other species peviously known as White Lipped Pythons please go HERE

Note that there is a possibility that the specimen above may no longer be called Leiopython albertisi however it would look very similar!
