SPOTTED PYTHON Antaresia maculosa
Note this species along with the Stimsons Python - Antaresia stimsoni and the Children's Python - Antaresia childreni were once all considered to be the same species Liasis childreni. For this reason many people still call this species a "Children's Python" however it is suggested that to avoid confusion the common name "Children's Python should be reserved for Antaresia childreni.
All three species are common in the pet trade in Australia
