GOLDEN CROWNED SNAKE
Cacophis squamulosus

Average adult total length around 60-75cm (2ft to2.5ft) however specimens approaching 1 metre (3ft) have apparently been found.

Mildly venomous - "Unknown, but unlikely to cause significant envenoming, most unlikely to be dangerous."

The Golden-crowned Snake (Cacophis squamulosus) above was seen crossing the road at Mt. Glorious, just west of Brisbane, Queensland - Note the stripe extending through the eye and onto the neck.
