This species
is one of the few Australian lizards that may lay eggs or be live bearing,
depending on geographic locality.
It occurs on the East coast of far North Qld from the Ingham area to North of Cooktown,
and across the top of Cape York Qld.
It also occurs in Southern Papua New Guinea, and Irian Jaya (Indonesia)
