and the picture below shows the detail in the tail of the same lizard.
The spines on the tail help to break up the outline of the lizard when it is camouflaged on a tree.
Saltuarius swaini is found in subtropical rainforests in far eastern Australia, around the New South Wales/ Queensland Border
