Distribution:- Western Madagascar

Both species were once considered to be the same species and they look superficially similar however the eastern Madagascar Tree Boa (Sanzinia madagascariensis) is smaller than the western Madagascar Ground Boa (Sanzinia volontany) which grows to approximately 2 metres (6–7ft)
