Note that keeping of reptile species in South Australia by private keepers is limited to species which occur in Australia. The only exotic herp that is normally kept by private keepers in South Australia is the Axolotl. Legalities of keeping these introduced species is uncertain:- Northern Green Python, flower pot snake, Asian house gecko, Flat tailed house Gecko, Red Eared Terrapin.
