KING RAT SNAKE
or Taiwan Stink Snake
Elaphe carinata

NOT VENOMOUS

Distribution:- North Vietnam, Taiwan, China, Japan

Comments:- Grows to around 2m (6 ft) total length

There are two subspecies:-
E. c. carinata is found throughout China and northern Vietnam.
E. c. yonaguniensis, is found in Taiwan and the Ryukyu Islands of Japan.
(E. c. deqenensis, found in Northwest Yunnan province China is now considered to be E. c. carinata)
